Milestones

The Milestones feature monitors your Discord server in the background and surfaces actionable notifications when something is missing, misconfigured, or ready to act on. It covers the full lifecycle of a growing server: from first steps at 50 members to scaling considerations at 10,000, with boost levels, safety, structure, and discovery eligibility tracked along the way.

Each notification includes specific context about what's affected and buttons to resolve, snooze, or escalate, directly on Discord.

What makes it different

  • Proactive, not reactive. Evaluates your server hourly and surfaces issues before your members notice them. No command needed once set up.
  • 30+ checks across six categories. Member growth, boost levels, identity, safety, community structure, and discovery eligibility, all in one place.
  • Fires at the right time. Checks are member-count aware: moderation structure advice waits until you actually need it. You won't see 1,500-member advice at 50 members.
  • Context-aware notifications. Flagged problem or improvements are designed to tell you exactly what's affected. Missing channel topics, which roles grant Use External Apps, what's blocking discovery eligibility, and so on.
  • Every notification is actionable. Mark as done, snooze for 1-90 days (default: 14), or escalate to human help, all with single clicks on the Discord message.
  • Opt-in categories for things that don't apply to everyone. Game dev verification, NSFW settings, role subscriptions and server monetization reminders only surface if you've opted in.

Setup

setup wizard → evaluates immediately → monitors hourly → surfaces actions

Run /milestones setup to go through the wizard and configure your preferences. Choose which opportunies to track, set the output channel and notification role(s), and optionally grant another role permission to interact with the feature. The bot evaluates immediately on completion and then checks hourly after that.

You can re-run /milestones setup at any time to adjust your configuration without losing existing milestone states.

Commands

/milestones setup - Opt-in for opportunity milestones, set alerts, the reminder interval, and a logging channel. After this, it will run in the background automatically.

/milestones status - Show all open, unresolved milestones.

/milestones upcoming - Preview progress toward upcoming thresholds.

/milestones pause - Pause or resume monitoring for this server.

/milestones refresh - Force-evaluate a specific milestone and re-post its notification.

/milestones reset-milestone - Clear one milestone's state so it re-evaluates on the next sync.

/milestones reset - Wipe all milestone states. Requires confirmation and is non-recoverable. Setup will need to be re-run from scratch.

Troubleshooting

  • No notifications posting: confirm setup is complete (/milestones status) and the bot has permissions to send messages in the output channel.
  • A milestone didn't fire but should have: use /milestones reset-milestone to clear it, then /milestones refresh to re-evaluate.
  • Monitoring appears stalled: check if it was paused with /milestones pause and run it again to resume.
